AS x Moooi

The collaboration between Moooi and Ada Sokół returns for Milan Design Week 2025, continuing the visual journey first introduced in the 2022 project that brought Moooi’s Memento collection to life — a surreal bestiary of fictional animals, each embodying its own personality and aesthetic world.

Each creature portrayed in this year's collaboration reflects Moooi’s imaginative identity while expanding its visual and narrative universe. The animations are presented both online and across Moooi’s physical spaces in three Milan locations: the Moooi Store, Salone del Mobile , and the tranquil Meditation Garden, created in collaboration with ABK Group. Together, these settings offer a layered, multisensory experience that blurs the line between digital art and material design.

Indigo Macaque

In the wide expanse of the hayfield, a blue shape catches the eye among the golden tones. As we get closer, it reveals itself as the vivid blue tail of a monkey, basking in the sun. The macaque rests peacefully — unbothered and unhurried — soaking in the silence and sunlight with quiet satisfaction. It holds a scythe designed by Ada Sokół, inspired by traditional Japanese agricultural tools.

Blooming Seadragon

The water sways gently, moving strands of seaweed aside as a Blooming Seadragon passes through — a creature once considered mythical due to its natural camouflage. With a magnifying glass designed by Ada Sokół wrapped around its tail, the Seadragon scans its surroundings, searching intently for others like itself. Hidden in plain sight, they’re nearly impossible to spot. Its search is patient, guided by instinct and quiet determination.

Reiki Rhea

The Reiki Rhea is the artist of the desert — a graceful bird that dances across the dunes, drawing intricate patterns in the sand with its feet. With flowing feathers and long lashes framing its curious, wide eyes, it moves with quiet confidence and delicate precision. Around its neck, it wears a sculptural necklace designed by Ada Sokół, inspired by traditional Moroccan jewelry. The patterns it creates in the sand echo the designs from the Moooi x ABK ceramic tile collection, launching during Milan Design Week.
