Bunnies Repose ❆⋆｡

In search of stillness that serves more than aesthetics, this project emerged from a desire to create something that genuinely calms the nervous system — a work grounded in science as much as in visual meditation.

Pink noise operates below our conscious awareness, synchronising with the brain's slower waves during deep sleep and rest. Studies show it enhances memory consolidation and helps sustain attention, particularly for those with ADHD. Unlike white noise, which can feel harsh, pink noise carries a softer, warmer quality — closer to the sounds found in nature.

Working with sound designer Ana Roman, a warm variation of pink noise was developed that complements the gentle temperament of the animation's subjects: two bunnies rendered in hyperrealistic 3D, resting in peaceful stillness. Their soft fur, the subtle rhythm of their breathing, the weight of their repose — each detail invites the viewer into a state of quiet observation.

The bunnies exist in a liminal space between sleep and waking, embodying the threshold state that the soundscape is designed to support. They are companions in rest, undemanding presences that anchor wandering attention without pulling focus.

The work exists as a one-hour loop, designed to accompany periods of deep focus, meditation, or the transition into sleep. It asks nothing of the viewer except presence — and offers, in return, a reprieve from stimulation.
